BREWSTER Vicky Sanchez and Yvette Sanchez each scored two goals to help lift Brewster to a 7-0 non-league win over Omak on Saturday.
Scoring one goal each for the Bears were Halle Aparicio, Marlissa Garcia and Arianna Rendon.
“Good week for our team,” said Brewster coach Alex Sanchez after the Bears went 3-0 last week and solidified their hold on first place in the Central Washington League.
Liberty Bell 3, Lake Roosevelt 0
COULEE DAM – Liberty Bell’s Anna Post, Haley Post and Julia Dietz each scored a goal in a 3-0 league victory over Lake Roosevelt on Oct. 7.
“We were able to control the ball possession for most the game, but the Lake Roosevelt defense played solid and did not allow easy goal scoring opportunities,” Liberty Bell coach Lincoln Post said.
Cashmere 2, Okanogan 0
CASHMERE – Okanogan used a smothering defense to hold back Cashmere into the second half before the southern Bulldogs clawed out a 2-0 league victory Thursday.
“Defensively, we played really well the first half and most of the second half,” Okanogan coach Dean Klepec, whose team is 2-2 in league, 6-5 overall. “We had a little breakdown from the 50th to 55th minute, but then got ourselves organized again.
“Offensively, we did not pressure them much until the last 10 minutes of the game where we started to press a little higher and got a couple of scoring opportunities.”
Cascade (10-0-1 overall, 4-0 league) is in first place, followed by Cashmere (7-3, 3-1).
Liberty Bell 6, Tonasket 3
TONASKET – Tonasket stayed with Liberty Bell into the second half before the Mountain Lions pulled out a 6-3 league victory Thursday.
“Tonasket was a strong opponent with a lot of hustle,” Liberty Bell coach Lincoln Post said. “We were able to start the second half with better passing and ball control. We scored quickly swinging the control of the game in our favor.”
Sally Thornton-White, Haley Post and Josephine Cole each scored two goals for Liberty Bell.
“It was a great game!!,” Tonasket coach Marah Norris said.
Mandi Wilson scored two first-half goals, the first coming five minutes into the match.
“Mandi (a striker) had a great game!!” Norris said, whose team was tied at 2-all at halftime.
The Tigers third goal was by Morgyne Hjaltson on a direct kick.
“It was a battle between both teams,” Norris said. “We knew Liberty Bell would be a tough team. Team goal now is to finish the second half like the first.”
Brewster 7, Bridgeport 0
BREWSTER – Marlissa Garcia and Rosa Velasco each pulled a hat trick (three goals) in Brewster’s 7-0 league victory over Bridgeport on Thursday.
Arianna Rendon also scored a goal.
Oroville 2, Manson 0
MANSON – Oroville blanked Manson, 2-0, in a league soccer match Oct. 5.
“With the exception of an early goal that caught the Lady Trojans off guard, the first half was very even between the two sides,” Manson coach Jared Mumley said. “However, during the second half, after some fatigue and a couple of injuries, Oroville began to take control. It paid off with a second goal coming from the wing.
“The Lady Trojans did not create much going forward and in the end, fell to the Hornets.”
Lake Roosevelt 3, Omak 1
COULEE DAM – Lake Roosevelt beat Omak, 3-1, in a non-league soccer match Oct. 4.
Omak finished the week at 0-10-1 overall, 0-4 in the Caribou Trail League.
Lake Roosevelt finished at 4-3 overall, 3-2 in the Central Washington League.
Tonasket 2, Manson 0
MANSON – Tonasket made a pair of goals in the first half stand up for a 2-0 road victory over Manson on Oct. 3.
Morgyne Hjaltson scored from the right side and Heidi Cruz got the second goal, coach Marah Norris said.
“We had almost 50 shots on goal that game. Manson had four shots on goal against us,” Norris said. “We have been focusing on finishing a lot the last week. Definitely showed against Liberty Bell.”
Okanogan 3, Chelan 2
OKANOGAN – Mya Moses scored two goals and Jillyan Taylor had two assists in helping lift Okanogan past Chelan, 3-2, in a Caribou Trail League match Oct. 3.
Rachelle Hamilton scored the winning goal off a Taylor assist. Hamilton had an earlier assist on a Moses goal.
“We played well the first half and did a good job of moving the ball around to set up good scoring opportunities,” Okanogan coach Dean Klepec said.
Brewster 2, Liberty Bell 1
WINTHROP – Brewster took over first place in the Central Washington League with a 2-1 win over Liberty Bell on Oct. 3.
Marlissa Garcia and Yvette Sanchez scored Brewster’s goals.
“Brewster is a strong, fast, attacking team that challenged us all over the field,” Liberty Bell coach Lincoln Post said.
Sally Thornton-White scored the Mountain Lions lone goal on a penalty kick.
The Bears improved to 4-0 in league while the Mountain Lions dipped to 4-1.
Cascade 15, Omak 0
LEAVENWORTH – Cascade crushed Omak, 15-0, in a Caribou Trail League soccer match Oct. 3.
Cascade finished the week 10-0-1 overall, 4-0 and in first place in the Caribou Trail League.
Oroville 3, Bridgeport 2
BRIDGEPORT – Oroville pulled out a road victory, 3-2, over Bridgeport on Oct. 3.
Oroville (4-3-1 overall, 2-3 league) finished the week a half-game ahead of Bridgeport (3-7, 2-4) in the Central Washington League standings.
