The Republic High School boys’ basketball team snapped a 17-game losing skid with a 58-50 league victory over Curlew on Jan. 22.
The Tigers lost their last two games of last season and the first 15 this year, although they played several teams close during the time.
That includes falling 39-31 to Curlew on Dec. 14.
For Republic, Lucas Larsen led four starters in double figures with 23 points (15 in the first half), which included three treys in the 21-13 first-quarter run.
Joe Koepke worked inside for 12 points (eight in the second half) and 15 rebounds for the Tigers.
Also for Republic were Taylor Connor with 13 points and David Jensen with 10 points. (seven in the first half).
Seth Wright (eight points in the first quarter) and Jayden Thomas (eight points in the second half) each scored 12 points to pace Curlew.
